Last spring I checked out the Super Swamper Boggers, 38.5X16 and thought for looks (tread style) and height these things are BOSS. I went to a 4-Wheel parts house and they brought one in from their warehouse several miles away as I was convinced these were the tires for me (had the cash in my pocket)! Once I saw them unmounted I had serious conflict with the sidewall construction (way too thin for my PW application, but I am sure they were great for a light rock crawling jeep or 1/2T P/U). I am now in similar shoes as you are... looking for a good heavy duty (8-10 ply minimum) all-terrain or mostly off road tire capable of heavy duty work. I down loaded the TM-9 manual (covers the do's & don'ts quite well) from the site posted on this forum before this last refresh and the hummer tires looked very aggressive and were heavy duty, so I am in persuit, as long as I can find them to fit my 16" combat wheels and have more height & width than the stock 9.00X16 NDTs. 38.5" should just do the trick. The ones on my PW are retreads & the treads almost new, but the cores are old and weathered/worn. I wonder if there are any retread mfg-ers that recap the stock 9.00X16s with an aggressive All-Terrain tread that are worth a damn? I almost bought 3 NOS Goodyear NDTs last spring, but the shipping costs were as much as the tires and I was concerned about the quality of NOS tires that old (missed out on the deal & regret not buying them in hindsight). It's not so bad looking and reading the posts about the tires cause my PW has rolling tires on it. I appreciate everyone letting me know what they did (different wheel sizes and types, even having their 16" wheels modified by a wheel shop to 16.5s/Stockton Wheel), what tires they bought, and all the safety concerns! PW & M37 tire posts make up quite a bit of this message forum. Thanks!
