L or R stamped into end of each stud

The "L" or "R" is stamped into the outer flat (actually, slightly dished inward) end of each threaded stud on which you lug nuts are stuck. If someone long ago put the brake drums on the wrong side of the truck, the L and R hand threads might be found on both sides of your truck. If one or more lug nut studs were ever replaced on one or more of the brake drums, then you might actually have both L and R hand thread studs among the 5 on the same drum. Talk about aggrivation, I have seen this happen! Clean off the end of each and every lug nut stud until you see either a L or R stamped into the metal, then you will know what you are dealing with on each and one. Good luck!
