I will recheck the numbers, but I am sure they are both T123 and they are the larger block engines. John Eickhof was with me when I checked both numbers a few days ago, so there were 2 sets of eyes looking at the numbers. The mystery deepens! The engine in the 1/2 ton is most certainly a transplant, but fits well. The engine in the '40 VD-15 is also most likely a transplant, and looks proper in the engine bay. The radiator and hood are missing on the VD-15, so I can't tell how much clearance there is between the fan and the radiator or how well the hood fits. This particular truck also has a dually rear differential from a 1/2 ton WC and the box has been shortened. It's actually a cute little trailer tow vehicle.
