I hope it is OK to talk about manuals now

I general I have not seen very many PW manuals and have not been impressed with the reprints I have seen. Is there a particular reprint of parts manuals that has better detail (as that is what I use to fumble trough disassembly and reassembly) and is there different original (or reproductions of) parts manuals that may be better.
Are there different versions of shop manuals that have more tips on items like removing steering columns or removal and installation of water disruption tubs, ect.
And last but not least how are the manuals on CD, is there a vendor with the best, or cd’s not to buy?
Sorry to ramble on so long but this would be very helpful to new owners.
