If you have the time and money, go with what ever YOU think would be the neatest, most fun, or what every aspect floats your boat.
If you are looking for practical with you you have on hand or readily available a small block MoPar is great.
The axles in these trucks can't take exotic power, they even fail under the stock engines, so build what you like/can and enjoy.
I love my small block powered M37 and would love to re-power the '46 PW with a 4BT, but practicality means I'll like drop another small block in it some day.
