Well you know what they say about opinions, but in my opinion I have seen quite a few 318-360 and not without good reason they are solid engines and that route is well paved. For that reason I would go for something a little more exotic. I like different and I enjoy the challenge of something different, I did a little research when I did a Cummins but also intentionally tried to avoid too much research I wanted to look at it through fresh eyes. If I were doing your truck though I would probably do an early hemi or a poly motor. The time period is correct and either will sound awesome and make more than enough power. I honestly have been surprised by how few hemi powered trucks I have seen. I have yet to see a slant six powered power wagon of any sort so the leaning tower is also on my radar. I am dreaming but a slant six full electronic with distributerless ignition and multiport fi would be pretty cool old and new in my opinion. With some thought any Chrysler engine can be mated to a suitable tranny, so fit will always be the challenge.

What about a truck v10 I haven't seen that done?
