My best clearcoat has been with the small gun in my DeVilbiss kit, but I've only sprayed clear a few times so far. It might be the finer tip, maybe I'll try going to the 1.2 next time in the big gun.
It does well on the horizontal surfaces like the fenders where gravity helps it lay out, but I get quite a bit of orange peel on the vertical surfaces.
