Your search results are strange. I just searched the archives and got these results;
4BT = 1883 hits
4BTA = 405 Hits
Cummins = 7365 Hits
NV-4500=341 hits
ZF-S542 = 9 hits
NP-205 = 457 hits

Are you clicking on Phils Archive at the top of the forum, then using the search ?

My Bumblebee FFPW 1970 was built by Dodge with a 251 Engine. I had power to sell, power was never a issue. In fact I put a gooseneck trailer ball in the bed so I could pull my 24' Gooseneck. Dodge built 1000's of PW's with 230 engines. They did well also.

Even with a diesel, your not going to make a High Speed truck, at least safely. Any of my old irons will run any legal speed, but I rarely run them over 50/55 for safety.

I am not trying to discourage your wish for a diesel. Rather get you doing a lot of reading to be really sure you want to invest tons of bucks, and then find you really dont need it.

My main reason was low end torque just off idle. I can off road, have max torque, use proper gears & 4x4 and have low R's, never spinning tires. And much less chance of twisting a axle off, if properly driven.
