I hauled my '55 FFPW from eastern PA to Chicago using my '04 Dodge Dakota on a U-Haul rental. I didn't have any issues but I probably wouldn't do it again. I'm sure I was exceeding the rated capacity of the trailer. If the car you are hauling is within the capacity of the trailer then I would say go for it, keep your speed low, stay to the right. Although towing over the Appalachians is one thing, towing over the Rockies is another. If you decide to do it make sure that the trailer and towing vehicle are in tip top shape.
