Their trailers are not meant for that much weight. They are designed for smaller lighter weight modern cars. Many have surge brake systems which are not the safest. They have been trying to outlaw surge brakes for years but UHaul has friends. Uhaul would never have rented to you, if they knew that you were going to put that truck on the trailer.

Additionally, Uhaul does not maintain their equipment very well at times. I closely inspect anything I rent from them. I have found trailers with badly cut tires, refused trailers where the wheels were so badly rusted at that I did not understand how the rims did not separate. Lights often do not work. Trailers often leak. Basically their equipment is marginal at best and I do not want to have anything but the best behind me as if something fails and their is an accident guess who is responsible. I am not willing to risk my future on some of the crap that UHaul puts on the road.

Unfortunately, there are few alternatives to UHaul in most places. I happen to have a rental place near me that has very well maintained equipment and a price less than UHaul and without some of the stupid little rental rules that UHaul has.
