you should have a 172 tooth ring gear if you use a 1962 to 68 bellhousing and as far as i can remember the bellhouseing only the use
the 2 and 3 bolt starter ? ,the 143 tooth ring gear came out in 1969 and had a gear drive 2 bolt starter
