I finally ordered new 7/16" fiber core wire rope for the MU2 on my WDX. I found the best price at a small rigging shop about 20 miles from me. .85 cents/ft. I have looked all over the internet and found the biggest problem was freight.
Anyway I will be glad to have this because the old cable is shorter, full of crushed places and since it's got a steel core, lots of short curls and kinks.
