Here is the correct installation of the E7S1 carb with correct CarTer fuel filter with ceramic element. Note the spacer between the carb and the intake manifold and the orientation of the carb, which places the filter well clear of the intake manifold. Only departure from original here is I am running a rubber fuel line and an electric fule pump. I will switch over to mechanical pump and hard line when possible. Filter and element are usually available on ebay. Element takes a spring in the glass bowl and a gasket between bowl and housing. Hope this helps.
