Eats fuel line. You should only have a bit of flex line at the engine , everything else should be steel.
Why not run a temporary line from a small tank to the pump and see what you get .
Then run the lines you have to the temporary tank - right by the stock tank. At least by doing this you will have isolated the present lines and tank.
It is the lines or the tank.
