The insides of the knuckles on my WC were all mangled up from joint failures in the past and the right side has a weld on the inside as well...I would have to assume it was a really deep one and not a crack since there isn't any welding on the outside and very little discoloration either. Both sides are rough and I have been running it just like that 2008. I am not sure about welding up a big gouge in one of these, but obviously it was done with great success on mine....Are they heat treated or hardened? Anyone know?
