I hear ya. I havent been in a position until this year where I could volunteer....though I have fought many fires in the past...but now I don't travel much so I am home every night and most weekends.
Thats the snag, there are enough people and deputies there during the day but most of our other daytime guys that will be close to a call are farmers and the average age of farmers is up there. My dad is in his 60's and so are most on our truck...but some of them run circles around me...and Im 34.
