The Chilton manual says use NLG2 grease for the Warn hubs and use ATF for the Dualmatic dial-type hubs. These are closer in design to the Warn hubs.

I have assembled several Warn hubs with grease and they bind, particularly in cold weather. The new o-rings may be slightly larger in diameter than the old rings. Or the grease inside the inner clutch assembly may not want to move in cold weather.

I plan to put some waterproof NGL2 on these, but not as much. I definitely don't want to have to beat on the aluminum dial to get it to turn.
