My '50 has 39.5" TruXus tires on it, and they clear in the front only with longer shackles. The rears apparently rubbed the fender lip of the fender, because the previous owner cut the lips off of them. Even with longer shackles (homemade, to my dismay), the tires rub when in a bind, with one wheel in a ditch or hole, or the like. My '54 parts truck has massive 46" Earthmover tires on it, and there is absolutely NO WAY to get the stock fenders on the front or rear of it. I can't see a way one with 42" tires could possibly work without a lot of suspension or fender modification.
