You are right, Jerry.
On our farm, the trees that are at the end of a field or next to the pond and get the full force of the wind depending on direction and are the ones that topple. The trees in the woods surrounded by other trees rarely fall with a hurricane, etc.
Also, the worst hurricanes typically have a torrent of rain first, which loosens the roots in the soil, then the big wind.
That tree you show was a big one. Did it partially hit the house?
