I used to see Louis at the local airport in Torrance, CA. The airport had been a P38 Lightning training base during the War. They renamed it to Zamperini field in more recent years. Louis autographed my copy of his autobiography, "Devil at My Heels." Essentially, this book is the same story as "Unbroken," but it came out many years beofore and is in Louis' own words. It's less polished, but I prefer it over "Unbroken." A coworker ran track at a local high school where Pete Zamperini, Louis' older brother, was his coach.
