Valve grinding is taking a substantial amount of valve seat off. AKA Valve cutting.

Valve Lapping is using a grit on the valve face to create a cross hatch rough surface to aid in the sealing of the valve.

I always lap the valve seats after they are ground or cut.

Am I wrong here?
