Hi Jerry, I agree 100%. Seals...most shops just automatically sell you junk now & partly because the interchange manuals just specify the single lip junk. I've found the best way to order any seal ...never give a part number. Always by dimension & specifically tell them if you want a single lip or double. Often the doubles are available in other brands or can be ordered in but yes...I feel your pain.
I'd honestly prefer to install leather seals than those cheap ass single jobs when the proper double lip seals aren't available. I'd rather have the odd drip than a catastrophic failure. I think the only way those cheap seals will last is if you use a speedy sleeve on everything. Our rough castings tend to destroy them I find.
