I don't know how big a 100 HP steam engine is. But depending on which spring package the D300 has should do it. what does door tag say? they range in rear spring capacity from just over 2K lbs per spring to over 4K lbs per spring. my 61 had the 3600 lb springs plus overloads and could easily carry near 3 tons
