Something that is often overlooked is the raised pads on the backing plates that the edge of the shoe rests against.Over time they can become grooved,and the pad edge can get caught up on this groove,causing grabbing.New pads would change the relationship of the pad to this groove.I'm not saying "that was your problem",just something else to check...
