Very few of my trucks are stock. Got one with a 318, several with diesel, all capable of maintaining 65 & none with altered brakes.
Get a good mechanic & you'll be happy with the drums.
Drums are not the perfect braking system but your brakes will not be the worst thing about trying to daily drive a PW...if that's your goal.
