Bill, a little saying comes back to me more and more often, I don't like to disparage people, but the saying goes something like " those who can, do, those who can't, teach". If you apply that over a period of time, it suggests that teachers will continue the legacy to teach about 80% of what they learned themselves, so many skills are being lost. Most mechanics these days are parts fitters, not fault fixers. My 2 cents.
