yes that is the bead lock. they wont work with most radial replacement tires. probably would still work with new bias. has to do with the size of the bead. most radials have puny beads. Marty did mention that the Chinese 9.00 radials have a big bead like a bias though. unless you plan on doing lots of sand dunes or 4 feet of snow you don't really need them. you can air down under 20 psi without the beadlock
