Being moved to a new setting, possibly for a road job. Donkey engines were moved on their skids by spooling out as much line as possible, attaching it to a stump or other anchor, and then running the engine to skid itself up to the anchor.
In this photo, Guy Schafer is on the donkey, George Madill is the teamster on the water wagon, driving the Schafer team, Pete and Corbett, who look like they have a lot of low-end torque.
