To the + side of coil. plus to one of the module wires. You have the module that mounts to the fender (duraspark?), or the one in the dist?

My first suspicion is vermin damage to wiring while parked. Look closely at all wiring.

Next would be to test the pick up coil- hook a volt meter to it and crank, it should make pulses on the meter.

I had an '86 F-150, sounds like the same ignition system. I burned a wire inside the harness, from module to ign switch. I did not unwrap the harness, just added a new wire along side.
