I have had this discussion when I "restored" or "rebuilt" my 1956 Chevy they had this same discussion with no correct answer. If the use of the term is to correctly represent the condition without any other information, it will never do the job. If I was to buy a restored truck, I would ask what was done to it in detail.

I guess I am rebuilding my truck and I like gmharris definition. I am trying to bring it back alive basically as it was originally built. My truck was re-purposed as a water tank truck and repainted utility truck orange. It has a shot Plymouth engine in it. I found a T245 to put in it and I plan to paint it single stage red and black. I will not be getting every ding and dent out of it. I want to get the original type gauges to work. It will be a nice truck but not a frame off. I am not worried about scratched door handle but will install the best of what I have. I am having fun and trying to be economical where possible.
