Hi Clint, yes, "restored" is a word overused these days, as Kevin was saying below.
In Real Estate, the same applies...folks list a Craftsman, Edwardian or Victorian home for sale & say it's "restored"...but when you look at it it has a modern stove in it & Home Depot laminate wood floors! In Real Estate that's called a Heritage Renovation...not a restoration.
The same should apply with vehicles. I don't really care myself if someone changes colors or adds options to a vehicle & some might even still call that "restored"...but it's not...& neither are clear coat paint systems. These trucks we love didn't come with fancy paint. The old enamel doesn't look anything like Base Clear paint & so in my mind, applying it is no different than installing a 4BT...except the 4BT isn't as noticeable :)
With old Cudas, Mustangs & Corvette's etc...there's a way higher standard of restoration but it'll never be applied to our old junk...it's different folks & a whole different world of uptight owners :) LOL!
