That is a good point - about disputes.
We live in an area with low crime. But it happens on occasion. One time we came in one morning to my business to find a vehicle that had a been put on blocks and stripped. The cops came, and tracked the owner down. He did NOT want a criminal investigation; seemed overly casual. I was surprised by this. The officer said it was probably a "rent a rock" case. This means that the guy owed money to the drug dealer for his "rock" of cocaine, and the dealer got tired of waiting so stripped his car for parts to sell.
