Sorry I'm uninformed. I gave up my SPAAMFAA membership and got rid of my two vintage fire trucks years ago. Maybe, the state of the art in what a nicely restored firetruck looks like has changed since then.

Show me a picture of the truck when it was in service, then (maybe) I will admit that it is not now overdone.

Just because you can find a piece of equipment in a catalog doesn't mean you should put every piece you can find on a truck. Ever see those Volkswagens where every piece of vintage equipment that the owner could find was put on it? How do they look to you? Nice, huh?

You referred me to the OCD restorations site. What I see is photos of nice old original trucks that could have been sympathetically restored.

But then, there are people who pay $150,000 for that company's (I forget the name) resto-modded Power WAgons. If they look good to you, then as I said, you will never agree with me.

Oh, by the way,I appreciate all the work (and money) that went into your truck. But, it's not for me. If its your cup of tea, good. Just don't expect me to be wowed with its authenticity, parts catalog verification or not.

Oh and what's up with that Fire Department Woody with the hose reel in the back? Is that really the way fire departments spec'd out there trucks?

By the way, I expected some vociferous opposition. Thanks for not disappointing me.
