A week ago I recieved my latest toy, a 53 m43. I usually by junk parts trucks and I don't feel bad about doing modifications to them such as chevy engine swaps etc. I thought that was what I was getting when I bought this truck as it had no running gear or engine. Basically a shell. Anyway it got delivered last weekend and is filthy but other than the drivetrain it is complete. In the back it appears to have the folding racks for the litters, even the web straps for hanging them from the ceiling and the canvas (although rotted) blackout curtains on the back door windows and the sliding door between the cab and the back. The compartments in the back still have stenciling labeling what they were used for(remains bags, etc.) The surgical light in the ceiling is still intact as is the roofmounted spotlight. Rust is very minimal and seems to be confined to the seam in the roof that is between the front(cab) and the rear section. Not rust through but one step beyond surface rust at the seam. Anyway what I am getting at is that if I use this truck for what I bought it for(modify,i.e. ruin for restoration) I would feel bad about not giving someone the chance to restore it. So if anyone is looking for a restorable m43 let me know. I also have a running(rusted out sheetmetal)m37 for parts. The m37 has a complete drivetrain. I know you may be thinking why don't I do the swap, but I am not into restorations(doing them). If I am going to put that much work into something I want to be able to drive it and down here that means a v8 etc. I'm in Orange Co., Ca if anyone is interested. Kurt
