The places to stay here in Cle Elum that I can reccomend; The Timberlodge Inn (800 584-1133) which is right across from a great steak house for dinner and has trailer parking in back. The Cascade Mountian Inn(888-674-3975), which also has trailer parking across the street. A really neat place to stay is The Iron Horse Inn(509-674-5939 or http://ironhorseinn.uswestdex.com), which also has good parking and was a old overnite house for the railroad workers. Thrers lots of railroad history and pictures inside. They also have two seperate railroad caboses that have been converted into living quarters.
Theres also an oppurtunity for a BBQ and pitfire at a great locat1on on Sunday when we get back.
I went down to the Forest Service to thlk to the ORV Ranger and the trail we will be going up will be open all that weekend. At the end of the trail is a beautifull alpine lake with crystal clear water and great views everywhere. I am going to make a scouting trip up there next week to make sure everything looks good.
