Last time I checked (long ago) EZ-OFF oven cleaner contained methylene chloride along with lye. That stuff is the best paint remover and non-flammable degreaser there is, but you can get the same ingredients cheaper by the gallon if you read the labels on paint remover (avoid "safe" paint remover that's just alcohol and lye). The problems are methylene chloride isn't cheap, it evaporates very fast unless mixed with thickeners and other additives, it will knock you out if you breathe too much, and it's known to cause cancer (like all chlorinated hydrocarbons). Personally I still think the best all-round paint remover is gasoline because it works good and it's cheap. You can soak small parts in it, then let the sludge settle and pour off the clean part to use again. I just go 100' from the house and make sure nobody walks up to me with a cigarette in hand.
