When I bought my PW it came equipped with 2 1"X12" pieces of wood that were well used and quite the mystery for me (amongst other home grown money savers). I was later told these were the defrosters. Simply unlatch the hood catches & place the piece of wood between the hood & the cowl near the windshield allowing for a slight opening in the hood allowing the engine heat to rise up onto the windshield with a little help from the engine fan. Makes one go Mmmmmmmmm. Now mind you I've barely driven my Flatfender 15 miles since I bought it & I live where it rarely drops below 40 (60 actually) degrees F, but if you can't trust a Fireman... then who? The truck lived in Rhode Island for the past 48 years. Anybody know if they have a need for defrosters there (something about winter)? Thanks!
