VPW has wrench for hub bearing nuts. I just went through my steering box and repaired the steering tube. Rusty has a fix but I feel it is short term. You will see many of these tubes have failed in the area you mention. The end of the tube is flared to slide over the neck of the steering box and then clamped. The steering box is bolted solid to the frame, the steering tube is bolted solid (w/rubber collar) to the cab, and the cab moves with vehicle flex. Steering tube cracks at the clamp. My solution involves a straight length of rubber radiator hose (with an I.D. the same as the O.D. of the steering tube) and a plumbing clamp-type repair coupling (this is a rubber sleeve covered by a stainless sleeve with 4 stainless radiator clamps). To do this repair, you must remove the steering wheel and drivers side floor pan and unbolt the steering tube dash support. Slide the hose over the steering tube and down over the steering box neck. Then slide the repair coupling over the hose so it has purchase on the steering box neck as well as the steering column tube. Tighten the 4 clamps until the whole assembly tightens up. This may seem like a lot of work but you wind up with a rigid assembly that can flex with cab movement and is water tight.
