A fellow stopped by my place today while I was working on the WDX. He said he lived down the road a bit and he had a '67 W-200 that he special ordered new and was wondering if I would be interested in it "As you seem to be the resident expert on old Dodges around here" (Guess he dont know me very well do he?) Anyway I told him I'd come on down and have a look at it, but since dragging home my latest and geratest (a WC-63 with arctic hardtop, painted a lovely shade of PINK, and with a stuck transmission.) my wife has put the keibosh on me getting any more trucks. Alas I can pass on the details to some friends (all of you readers out there) who may be interested.
On to the meat and potatoes...
Honestly, he has a pretty nice truck. What seems most valuable to me about it is that he is the original owner and he ordered it special from Lynwood Dodge in WA state in '67. It is a Camper Special and has a 383ci motor w/4 speed NP 435 trans. 3000# front axle. The truck is very straight, little rust in the floors, and the corners of the doors. The door steps have been replaced with new steel ones. The doors need new hinge pins (you have to hitch them up a little when you close them). The hood hinges are worn a little bit also and need to be shimmed to bring the back part down. It has 3 gas tanks, the original behind the seat and 2 tucked into the bed on each side in front of the wheel wells. It is dark blue in color. The original headliner is still there, the seat has a cover on it. It has 150k mi on the truck. It runs really good and dosent smoke a bit. He also has a dual battery set up on it, and a electric B&B winch on the front. He would like to get $4000 for the truck. He has all the original paperwork for it including a shop manual and telegram from the factory confirming his order. I will get some pictures of it after the 4th for anyone interested. Sent me an E-mail or call 509-674-6840.
