I did my split ring tires on my PW. As others said, make sure there is GOOD METAL on the wheel in the area where the ring seats. If it's rot eroded, scrap the wheel. Be sure the split ring is not badly rusted on the ID. With rust, there isn't much metal left for the ring to latch on to. Rings are cheap insurance against injury. I think VPW has a bunch. I mounted the tires/tubes/flaps by hand. (use lots of tire talc so the tube dosen't chafe on the tire) The split rings went on fairly easily. I just "walked" them around the rim with my size 10 K Mart work boots. Used hard tires are a bit tougher to manipulate. Getting chicken at this point, I just aired them up to about 5 psi, and trundled off to a truck tire store so they could fill them in a cage.
