Here in Alaska we have two major refineries plus the north slope oil feilds, and just in Anchorage, we're paying between 1.58 and 1.63 for regular unleaded. Go out of Anchorage, and the price goes up, the farther out, the higher the price. The other day there was a peice in the newspaper about how gas prices have been going down in many places, up to 20 cents a gallon in some places. Well here in Anchorage, I've only seen the price come down 2 to 3 cents. In one of the earlier postings, someone listed a whole bunch of possible reasons for high gas prices. Well they missed one. Ever notice how each time there is an oil spill, or the courts fine the oil companies for a spill, the price of gas goes up? The oil companies are not paying for the fines, we all are through higher gas prices. Of course this just my opinion.
