I have used a variation of Marty's tape method - I have taped the body with the best 3m plastic type tape available . One piece on each side of the run.
Also i sharpen the blade and roll a little lip on it in the same manner that you roll a lip on a wood scraper blade.
Be gentle, once down to the tape, i remove the tape and continue scraping until the surface is flat .
One caution - the density and structure of the drip may be different than the surrounding paint- even dead flat the drip will show up in different light. Most often this will not happen but I have seen it a few times.
