I live 1 hour from San Francisco and when relatives visit, guess where we go. While eating lunch on the bay, my 9 year old great nephew spotted the WW2 submarine and liberty ship. The 5 women wanted to see the wax museum and go shopping in the tourist traps. My nephew and I visited both WW2 craft. In the hold of the liberty ship was the restored WC 53. The manager of the entire ship preservation was there and said the WC 53 was originally delivered to Normandy. It ended up in the french Foreign legion for a while then owned buy a french car dealership owner. He states they (the dealer) meticulously restored it in France then shipped it as a donation to the Jeremiah Obrien. We had much more fun there than the wax museum. I made a small album with some truck photos. The island behind the ship is Alctraz.
