But you are right i don't discount the old gear, my jeep is a 72 cj5.... with a fair amount of customization... but not to the degree others have gone, mine still looks stock until you get close and find the shackle reversal on super soft YJ springs that give my (still narrow track) axles 32 inches of travel!!!!! (that means i can put one tire 32 inches in the air without lifting any other tires of the ground.
Ya baby! nothing like a sleeper!
i have surprised many people by idling over boulders and such.
Love the old stuff.

I typically don't do real bad stuff, i have done some things that i don't think i would do now. : )
I built my rig to do trails not competition, but it has all the right stuff like a full frame mounted cage and sliders, winch, locker, low gears in the trans and tcase, etc.....
