keep an eye on the oil! the 84 has a better timing chain set up than the 85 and up so should not be a problem. But incase someone put a later engine in the truck it could be. usually between 100 and 125K the timing chain eats the cheap factory plastic chain guide/tensioner, then it east through the aluminum housing on the engine into the coolant passage then the oil pan fill up with coolant real quick. If you don't catch it fast engine is toast, I have done that job. not too tough. but when you go to the boneyard to find a new housing only maybe 1 in 8 engines still have one. they are either already bad or sold. last item I did one had to got to 2 boneyards
