They did the same thing with the city buses in Panama City. Now all the city buses are as clean and modern as in any city.
There are still plenty of old U.S. school buses (chicken buses) running rural routes. However, medium size Toyota buses are mostly running the longer routes.
It will be a shame to see all the chicken buses gone. They are part of what makes Central America so different. If you have never ridden a chicken bus for any distance, you have missed something. I wonder what we will do with our old school buses?
