That's an ad guy's pic. Those forks are used for loose hay, not bales, and the guy with the rope would be a team. Of course the only place to see that happen would be at a farm museum. When I was a kid (the year of that truck) there was a farmer in Vermont that still loaded his hay that way. there are four loose forks, he'd jam them in the loose hay, jump off the wagon, yell giddy up, the team would take off, forks would grab the hay, go straight up and then down the rail to the back of the barn and then then the farmer would tug a smaller rope and the forks would release the hay and it would drop hopefully where the farmer wanted it. It was really cool to watch. I suppose you could swap in a power wagon.
