So a couple weeks back I had issues with what I thought was vapor lock.

The previous owner had ran the fuel line down the passenger side next to the exhaust pipe. It was obvious he had problems based on the attempts he made to shield the fuel line.

I ran a brand new line from the tank to the fuel pump down the drivers side and tested it out. I still had fuel starvation issues.

I located a 9543 pump and installed it, and ran a new line from the pump to the carb. I did an amazing job of insulating the pump/carb line. I also added a bunch of insulation to the heat shield above the fuel pump.

New line, new pump, heat shielding....the sight glass on the carb barely fills up, and there is only a trickle of fuel running down the side of it.

I drove about 300 yards and the truck stalled.

So now I'm thinking it is time to go electric...:-P
