I highly doubt the tires would cause a death wobble, even if a rim was bent. You would have a nasty vibration, but a death wobble points to something majorly wrong in the front end. I would check your knuckles and the drag link. Check the ball pivots on the pitman and steering arms. In the knuckles check the trunions, both the upper bushings and the lower bearing. Make sure that the steering drag is tight enough because this drag dampens the movements of the front end. Check the tie rod ends and that the toe is correct. While you are checking the knuckle, check the spindles and wheel bearings and make sure there is nothing bent or lose.
If all of the parts are good and everything is tight, you would not have the death wobble. It is always frustrating when something has to come apart that you just fixed, but its no good in its current state.
