Thanks for info, Jerry. I guess what I should have also asked is how you fit the pockets to the rail. I'm assuming you cut out the top of the frame rail to accept whatever you used for a pocket, and that the pocket extended slightly into the deck area necessitating notching the outer deck board to fit around it.
The 2" x 3" rect. tube I was planning to use would, along with accepting 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" rect. tube, also accept a 2 x 3 if I wanted to go with wood sides. Thinking...I could instead use 2" x 4" rect. tube for pockets. Have to check if there is a comparable size rect. tube that would fit inside.
This is one of my faults...I sometimes 'think' a job to death instead of just diving in and doing it, as I did when my hair was still dark.
